"Casket Shopping" by Karen Luke Jackson

I’d feel like I was sleeping
North Carolina writer Karen Luke Jackson reads her own story about giving her mother one of the best days in her life.

Oral history, contemplative practices, and clowning inspire Karen Luke Jackson’s stories and poems, which have appeared in numerous journals, including Ruminate, Great Smokies Review, Kakalak, ONE, Emrys Journal, Friends Journal and moonShine review. A facilitator with the Center for Courage & Renewal, Karen resides in a cottage on a goat pasture in Flat Rock, North Carolina. There she writes and companions people on their spiritual journeys. GRIT, a chapbook chronicling her sister’s life as Clancey the Clown, is forthcoming in 2020. For more, visit www.karenlukejackson.com
