"Great Aunt Dora" by Pam Brinegar

Fried Spam and Rust

Kentucky writer Pam Brinegar recalls her experiences even as a young child visiting with her great aunt, a woman both particular and peculiar perhaps and most especially memorable.

Pam Brinegar is a Lexington, Kentucky family historian whose articles have appeared in various publications including NGS Magazine, Kentucky Ancestors, Bluegrass Roots, and Ohio Genealogical Society Quarterly. Her favorite current project centers on an attorney/educator/Episcopal priest turned Kentucky circuit court judge-imposter who fled Boston in 1909 to escape charges of forgery, larceny, and bigamy.
